Alright, the combatants are set, let’s end this debate once and for all. It’s time to enter the BATTLE ARENA!

_______________________(Epic Line Break)__________________________________

Madotsuki lightly tapped her pen against the open page of her diary as she felt an uneasy feeling in her head. Something didn’t feel right, but she couldn’t put her finger on the reason for it. She quickly pushed those thoughts aside to change her thoughts to something else. Uboa. The creature that Poniko had turned into, the creature that had wronged her. Stole from her. Mado realised one day that she never had the chance to kill it.

Quickly dropping her pen haphazardly and slamming her diary shut, Madotsuki practically stormed over to her bed and slipped under the covers, overcome with anger directed at Uboa. Mado swiftly fell asleep and appeared in the Dream World. It was never the same after what she did to it, but she didn’t spend a lot of time looking around.

However, there was one thing that caught her eye. A door. A door that she didn’t recognise. Mado slowly walked towards the new door, which in turn caused her feelings of unease to return the closer she got. The door was pure black with a white dog emblazoned on it.

Madotsuki’s hand began to shake as she reached out for the doorknob and twisted it. Madotsuki walked into the new world and was actually shocked to her core. It looked… normal. The new world was a stark contrast to the worlds she had previously encountered. Mado looked around at the tranquil suburban location before she felt a chill up her spine.

Mado turned to see a human walking along the path she was standing on, side-by-side with a skeleton that was roughly the same height. Mado took a few steps to get out of their way before they walked past her. However, when the human walked past her, she felt a chill up her spine.

There was something different about them, but she couldn’t tell what it was. Thoughts of Uboa suddenly flooded her mind, causing her to reach into her chest compartment and draw the Knife Effect. Mado yelled as she charged at the two. Frisk turned his head when he heard the yelling and quickly shoved Sans out of the way before dodging Mado when she tried to stab him. Sans quickly got back to his feet as his eye began to glow blue.

*You tell Sans to run and get help.” Frisk instructed, causing Sans to flicker his gaze between the two humans before running to a shortcut that he knew. Frisk knew that Sans might not stand a chance against a human, so he wasn’t going to risk his friend.

*You ask the girl who she is and what she wants.” Frisk asked. Mado simply scowled as she gripped the Knife Effect tighter.

“I’ll kill it. I’ll kill it. I’ll fucking kill it! If I have to go through you to get to the thing that hurt me, then I’ll kill you too!” Mado screamed as she prepared her Knife. Frisk quickly picked up the nearest thing to him, which was a fairly sized stick and kept his eyes locked onto Madotsuki as a glowing red heart appeared in his chest.

Madotsuki roared as she charged at Frisk, knife raised in a stabbing motion. In response, Frisk did what he did best. He dodged. Once she was close enough, Mado sliced at Frisk in multiple directions, only for Frisk to dodge the strikes completely. Mado glared as she tried again, allowing Frisk to duck under her arm and begin to flee. Madotsuki blanched at the boy running away before glaring and running after him. Mado quickly realised that the boy was faster on his feet than she was.

Mado growled lightly in frustration before she opened her chest again, her knife disassembling into energy and becoming a disk. As she put the Knife Effect back, she pulled out another Effect that transformed into a bicycle as her chest closed again. After hopping onto the bike, she began to pedal as hard as she could and started to close the distance between herself and Frisk. Frisk quickly noticed Madotsuki getting closer as they were approaching a bridge over a small river. Frisk quickly drew his stick before he hopped slightly to the right and stopped running. Madotsuki blanched at the sudden action, but couldn’t stop in time.

With excellent timing, Frisk waited for Madotsuki to pass in front of him before he stabbed the stick into the bicycle’s front wheel, causing it to get caught and the bike’s wheel to lock. Mado was suddenly flung off of the bike, careening across the bridge. Frisk took this moment to ‘Check’ the girl that was attacking him.

* ??? – ATK ??? DEF ??? *There are a lot of emotions in her eyes’ Frisk sighed at the lack of information, but decided to try something else. A cold-blooded killer wouldn’t have emotion in their eyes. Frisk knew that all too well.

The feeling of regret and hope that you may be able to help your attacker fills you with DETERMINATION.’ Frisk thought as Mado finally stood back up.

*You ask why the girl is doing this.” Frisk asked. Madotsuki’s only response was to make the Bicycle Effect disappear and pull another one out of her chest. The disk in her hand transformed into a Triangle Kerchief on her head, before she vanished from sight.

*She doesn’t seem much for conversation.’ Frisk thought as he began looking around for Madotsuki. Unbeknownst to Frisk, Mado removed her Effect to reveal that she was right behind him. Switching back to her Knife Effect, she silently slashed Frisk across the back, leaving a massive, bleeding gash in his back.

Frisk screamed in pain as he stumbled forward, only to receive a kick in the back, sending him over the side and into the river below. Mado watched him be taken away by the stream with no emotion on her face. Her expression became surprise as Frisk's red heart turned yellow and Frisk aimed his Cell Phone at her. Frisk fired a single yellow energy shot from his phone, which hit Madotsuki in the forehead, causing her to stumble back and fall off of the bridge too.

The two were carried off by the stream until Frisk reached one of the banks and climbed out. He noticed that Madotsuki was still a while away, which allowed Frisk to reach into his pocket and pull out a slightly damp Hot Cat and wolfed it down his throat as quickly as he could. He suddenly felt the large wound in his back close and seal, leaving no mark. Frisk felt sad that his sweater was torn open due to the attack, though.

You are overcome with a feeling of melancholy over the brave sweater and its brave sacrifice. You are filled with DETERMINATION.’ Frisk thought as he turned his attention back to Madotsuki who was beginning to climb out, a small bruise on her forehead. Frisk quickly took off the small bandage on his knee and took out the Heart Locket from his pocket and placed it around his neck.

Madotsuki quickly got to her feet and glared at Frisk as she drew her Knife Effect again. Frisk took on a look of guilt and regret as he clicked on his phone… and drew the Worn Dagger. Madotsuki quickly charged at Frisk and swung her knife as hard as she could. Frisk quickly raised the dagger in order to block the strike, but the blow was stronger than he expected, causing his own dagger to be pushed back and grazed his face, making a small cut on his cheek.

Frisk quickly rolled away and aimed his phone at Madotsuki again. Madotsuki steeled her gaze as Frisk began to fire energy shots at Mado, only for her to barely dodge them. She exclaimed in pain as a couple of shots hit her, but she was drawing closer and closer. When she was close enough, Mado leapt at Frisk and once again slashed with all of her might.

Only to be blocked by a blue energy shield. Frisk’s yellow heart had turned green and blocked the strike from Madotsuki. Mado groaned before she sheathed her Knife Effect and activated her Witch Effect. A witch’s hat and cloak materialised on Mado’s body as a broomstick appeared in her hand. Hopping onto it, she quickly shot forward and grabbed Frisk.

A small stream of blood continued to trickle down Frisk’s face as Mado carried him and began to gain altitude. Frisk noted that they were getting far too high and grabbed the broomstick. A plan quickly formulated in Frisk’s mind as he began to slice at the broomstick, before slicing it in two.

Madotsuki blanched as the two stopped rising and began to fall. The two pieces of the broom disappeared along with the hat and cloak before returning to Mado’s chest. Mado began to frantically think of a way to land safely, while Frisk simply closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.

You listen to the roaring wind rushing past your ears. It’s unlike anything you’ve felt before. It fills you with DETERMINATION.’ Frisk thought before he took his Cell Phone in hand again and pressed a button. Suddenly, the phone began to grow and shift before Frisk placed it on his back. The jetpack suddenly roared to life, allowing Frisk to rush forward and grab Madotsuki.

Mado was too in shock to respond as she and Frisk began to rush towards the ground at an even faster rate. Moments before hitting the ground however, Frisk began to pull up, levelling them out as they flew over the ground. Suddenly, the jetpack began to splutter as its fuel supply went dry. The two blanched as they began to fall to the ground again. Frisk turned the two around so he hit the ground first before they began to roll along the ground, their momentum slowly dying away.

The two finally stopped in front of an elementary school. Frisk and Madotsuki groaned as they slowly began to get to their feet, Frisk eating a Cinnamon Bunny as he did so. Frisk’s bruises vanished before he looked over to Madotsuki. She was covered in bruises and cuts from the landing. The bruise on her forehead had only gotten worse and she was beginning to shake from pain and exhaustion.

The guilt you feel when you look upon your wounded foe fills you with DETERMINATION.’ Frisk thought as he tried to approach Mado in order to apologise. Mado simply glared as she spat out some blood and her eyes began to darken.

“You… hurt my friend! You cut it in two! I’ll cut you in two!!” Madotsuki roared as a goopy, white substance began to leak from her chest. The substance wouldn’t stop, even when it completely consumed Madotsuki and began to take shape. Suddenly, the substance became a large, white body with two glaring, red eyes and a large, featureless mouth. The giant creature roared into the sky as it towered over the school next to it.

Evil Madotsuki had awakened. Several Human and Monster children stared out of the window in complete shock as they watched the giant creature. Frisk got to his feet and meet the giant beast’s gaze. Frisk tapped on his phone again made a selection. Suddenly, Frisk was wearing body armour on that was completely made of construction paper that had the word ‘hOI!’ emblazoned on the front. Frisk had equipped the Temmie Armour.

You get the feeling that the large beast in front of you is going to have a bad tem. You’re filled with DETEMMIENATION.’ Frisk thought as he held the Worn Dagger tightly. He had to get Madotsuki out of that thing.

Mado launched her hand forward, causing Frisk to swiftly dodge, gripping the Worn Dagger tightly before stabbing it into Mado’s hand. Mado roared in pain before they tried to grab Frisk with their other hand, causing Frisk to pull the dagger out of Mado’s hand and dodge again. The beast roared as it continued to try and fail to catch Frisk. Frisk continued to slash at the beast’s hands, only for them to reform from the slashes.

Frisk retreated slightly before reverting his jetpack back into his Cell Phone and began to fire more energy shots at Mado, his SOUL turning yellow. The shots barely seemed to faze Mado as she tried to grab Frisk again. Frisk blanched as he barely dodged the grab. Frisk was slowly beginning to panic as he continued to shoot at the beast.

However, Frisk’s luck finally ran out. Mado managed to backhand Frisk, sending him flying. Frisk crashed through one of the classroom windows, causing the children to avoid his impact. Frisk groaned as blood began to pour from a gash on his head and he weakly made it to his feet. His hand was shaking as he reached for his Crab Apple.

However, he was cut short by Mado swiftly reaching into the room and grabbing Frisk, causing him to drop the Crab Apple and the children in the classroom to scream. Mado pulled Frisk out of the room and held him at full height. Frisk weakly opened his eyes and looked at Mado as she stared at Frisk’s bleeding face.

“How does it feel? You’re just like everyone else! Hitting me. Hurting my friends. Stopping me from doing what I want to do! Why?!” Mado screamed in a twisted, demonic voice. In that moment, it all made sense to Frisk. The beast was still the girl. But…

She was a girl that had gone through so much heartache that it had turned her into… what she was. If there was anyone who understood hardship, heartbreak and the feelings of the world being against you… it was Frisk. Frisk was about to speak, but Mado simply dropped him to the ground.

“You’re not worth absorbing. Die!” Mado roared, slamming her fist into Frisk, crushing his body and killing him instantly. His SOUL snapped into two.

…Before reforming back into a single piece. Mado moved her hand away to reveal that Frisk was completely unharmed and was already back to his feet. Frisk felt unbridled Determination as he stared up at the beast, refusing to die until he helped her.

*You call out to the beast and tell her that you know how she feels.” Frisk exclaimed as he began to move away from the school, not wanting to risk anyone inside getting hurt. Mado simply roared and tried to crush Frisk with her fist again. Frisk simply reached into his pocket and drank a cup of Sea Tea, making him even faster.

*You tell her that it’s okay to feel angry.” Frisk called out again. Mado flinched at the words before trying to slam her fists into Frisk with increased verve. Frisk once again dodged the strikes quite acrobatically before turning back to Mado. Frisk tried to wrack his brain on what to say next, nothing seemed to be working. Frisk’s face contorted before blurting out the first thing that came to his mind.

*You say that there must be more to her life than misery. Frisk called out, causing Madotsuki to freeze in place.

Suddenly, memories began to fill her head. Finding each of the Effects. Each new Effect being like a new friend. Even a few memories from her childhood began to resurface as well. Madotsuki felt tears emerge from her demonic eyes as she looked at Frisk who was gazing at her with a look of confidence and determination. The boy that she’d fought. The boy that she’d tried to kill. The boy that had never given up on her, despite not even knowing her.

Tears began to stream from her eyes as her demonic form began to shrink smaller and smaller as her white and gunky form began to recede into her body, through her chest compartment. Slowly, but surely, the entirety of Evil Madotsuki was gone, revealing Mado’s true form on her knees, tears dripping from her eyes.

Frisk gazed at Mado with no emotion as he slowly drew the Worn Dagger and began to walk closer to her. Mado noticed the dagger in Frisk’s hand, but didn’t react. She simply lowered her head and continued to cry, resigning herself to her fate. Frisk stopped in front of Madotsuki and raised his arm, dagger in hand… before throwing it into the distance.

The unexpected movement caused Madotsuki to stare into the distance where the knife had been thrown and then back at Frisk. Frisk however, had already got to his knees and wrapped Madotsuki in a tight, yet gentle embrace. Madotsuki’s eyes widened at the boy’s actions, but before she could ask what he was doing, she heard him talk to her.

*You tell her everything’s going to be alright. Frisk said softly. Mado froze before she weakly tried to get out of the hug, but to no avail.

*You tell her that you will see her again.” Frisk said, not raising his voice at all. Mado’s attempts to escape the hug weakened further, tears still escaping from her eyes.

*…You tell her that you will always be there for her.” Frisk whispered. Madotsuki’s eyes widened before tears began to stream from her eyes and she began to sob as she wrapped her arms around Frisk tightly. She tried to ignore them, but the boy’s words had truly touched her heart. She felt deep regret that the Dream World had created a construct that had affected her so much. It all just felt so real. She slowly began to raise her hand… and pinched her cheek.

(Music stops)

Madotsuki suddenly awoke in her bed, tears still falling from her eyes. But, when she did… she came to a realisation. The world she was just in felt exactly like the real world. Mado slowly got to her feet and walked out onto the balcony. Everything felt the same. The sun, the wind, everything. Mado felt a glimmer of hope in her heart before it began to grow.

That world was real. Frisk was real, he had to be! Mado ignored the stepladder on the balcony and ran to the door to her apartment. Her hand began to shake as she slowly began to reach for the doorknob. Her movements began to slow, until memories of Frisk’s words began to echo in her mind. Mado closed her eyes for a moment, but before she knew it… she had opened the door. Mado looked at the open door in shock… before a small smile came to her mouth and she walked through.

She had a new friend to find.

SK: “…I’m not crying, I swear…”

“In base form, Madotsuki has more than enough advantages to have a chance to take Frisk down, but after Frisk’s Determination begins to rise, Madotsuki would have a harder time fighting them as the battle went on. True, Mado’s Evil Form is more than a match for Frisk, but when Frisk’s Determination is high enough, Evil Madotsuki isn’t the strongest foe that Frisk has survived and defeated. Frisk may have had to rely on the six Human SOULs to finish Omega Flowey, but Frisk still fought him and defeated him. That’s impressive regardless if the Human SOULs reduced his DEF.”

“Frisk had plenty of recovery options to keep themselves in the fight, even without the SAVE/LOAD function and their Determination. Couple that with an overall speed and durability advantage and Madotsuki’s superior strength and destructive capability simply aren’t enough to put Frisk down for good. True, Madotsuki could have consumed Frisk, but one, she’d have to catch them first. The main reason Mado managed to consume Poniko was that she managed to catch her before Poniko could react. Two, there’s no reason to say that Frisk’s LOAD ability wouldn’t be able to bring them back anyway.”

“Of course, Frisk wouldn’t be able to keep LOADing forever due to their connection to the world slowly fading away with each death, but Madotsuki would have to kill them quite a few times before that consequence starts to be a real problem. And with Frisk’s speed, durability and recovery options, it makes killing them that much harder. Also, if Madotsuki remembers her good memories whilst in her Evil Form, she will willingly revert herself back to normal. While it’s not certain that Frisk would be able to do this, with their first instinct being to talk, the possibility is there that they could spark the memories. Especially if Mado’s diary/memories are undamaged.”

So, let’s review:

Madotsuki
+ Stronger
+ Greater Destructive Capability
+ Evil Form is very dangerous for Frisk
=/+ Madotsuki’s Witch’s Broom and bicycle grant her good mobility and don’t rely on fuel
=/- Both lack a lot of experience, but Frisk has an edge
- The Knife Effect is Madotsuki’s only real method of attack
- If she remembers her good memories, Madotsuki will willingly revert out of the Evil Form

Frisk
+ Faster
+ More Durable
+ Greater Recovery Options
+ Greater Versatility
+ Determination and SAVE/LOAD makes Frisk very hard to kill
=/+ Both lack experience, but Frisk’s feats of fighting Asgore and Flowey give them an edge
=/- Frisk’s Jetpack grants superior mobility, but has a severely limited fuel supply
- Wouldn’t be able to LOAD forever
- Weak spot is constantly on show
- Would not be able to win without Determination

SK: “Madotsuki certainly stood a chance against Frisk throughout the fight, especially with her transformation, but Frisk’s versatility and Determination would prove too much for her to finish off.”

“You here some kind of pun about one of the combatants. It’s horrible, but you chuckle anyway. You are filled with DETERMINATION.”

VERDICT: The Winner is Frisk
